Shelby Poteet is an associate in the firm. She concentrates her practice in the firm’s debtor bankruptcy practice.
Ms. Poteet graduated from the San Diego State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology. She then earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law. Ms. Poteet earned several accolades for her hard work throughout law school, including the Dean’s Diversity Scholarship, membership in the Pro Bono Honors Society, and an Academic Excellence Award in her White Collar Crimes course.
During law school, Ms. Poteet gained a invaluable experience in a variety of legal settings. During the summer of 2013, she volunteered as a certified intern in the Consumer Department of the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc., where she aided indigent clients defend themselves in collection actions. Most notably, Ms. Poteet served as a legal extern for the Honorable Laura S. Taylor at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California, during the fall of 2013.
